Baseus Spacemate RD1 Pro

RD1 Pro is aimed at a desk where the phone needs a home alongside the laptop. Its wireless charging surface and device-power connections are part of the attraction, so it makes sense to compare it with the dock-plus-phone-charger arrangement you would otherwise buy.

Consider it for

  • Windows desks that also need a phone charging location
  • Consolidating several charging accessories

Check before buying

  • Shared power budget limits simultaneous maxima
  • Not dual independent external desktops on macOS

A charging budget shared by several devices

Baseus lists a 160W total output budget and a host port capable of up to 100W, with a 180W supply included. Those figures describe different parts of the system. The individual port maxima should not be added together as though every socket could deliver its maximum at once. Ask how your simultaneous device mix affects available power.

The dock is USB-C, even on a Thunderbolt laptop

The manufacturer identifies USB 3.2 Gen 2 data transport rather than a Thunderbolt-certified dock. A suitable Thunderbolt computer can use the device, but that does not turn its USB link into a full Thunderbolt connection. Buy it for the documented functions rather than the fastest protocol listed among compatible hosts.

Choose the display mode that matches your operating system

Its published display guidance describes dual 4K60 on supported Windows setups, with a single higher-refresh option through a designated HDMI output. On macOS, the external screens share one extended desktop or mirror. If you want two independent Mac workspaces, this is the wrong display arrangement. The wireless pad may help clear one charging cable, but check your phone’s supported charging mode instead of expecting the pad’s maximum rating on every handset.

Baseus UnionJoy 17-in-1

UnionJoy earns a place in the comparison when a desk has accumulated more peripherals than a compact hub can conveniently accommodate. Its seven USB connections are the detail to inventory first: count the devices you leave attached before deciding whether a larger dock is worthwhile.
