Stand it up or lay it flat
The supplied stand gives this model a different placement argument from a long horizontal dock. Keeping it upright can free usable desk area, while front USB connections remain available for devices you unplug regularly. Before choosing a position, leave room for the video and power cables to bend without pushing against a wall.
The laptop connects over USB-A or USB-C using the corresponding included cable. The dock-side host connection is USB-B, so a generic USB-C-to-USB-C lead is not a substitute. That is a small but useful detail for an office that keeps spare cables in a drawer.

Two independent 4K60 displays can use HDMI, DisplayPort or a mixed pair. DisplayLink software provides those outputs, including extended-display support on listed Macs. It must be installed and allowed by the operating system before the display arrangement can be considered ready.
There is no laptop Power Delivery. Keep the computer’s own charger in the setup even though the dock itself has an AC adapter. Six USB-A ports and Gigabit Ethernet favor a desk of established accessories rather than a collection of USB-C drives. If the vertical layout saves space and your charger already stays on the desk, this can be a practical bridge between older and newer laptops. If eliminating that charger is the goal, choose a different model.
