Match the adapter bundle to the notebook

With the 180W adapter, Dell specifies up to 130W charging for supported Dell systems. Non-Dell USB Power Delivery hosts receive up to 90W. The 130W-adapter bundle also tops out at 90W to Dell notebooks. This makes the power brick a meaningful part of the listing, even though it does not create an entirely different dock model.

For an existing desk, inspect the adapter label before deciding a replacement dock will solve a slow-charging complaint. A powerful laptop can remain limited if the wrong supply is reused. Conversely, buying the larger bundle offers no guaranteed 130W advantage to a non-Dell computer.

Some rear video connections are alternatives

The HDMI and multifunction USB-C video outputs share a selection: Dell states that they cannot drive two separate monitors simultaneously. Two full-size DisplayPort outputs remain available, and the exact resolution combinations depend on HBR bandwidth and DSC support. Dell’s current table lists dual 4K60 only in its HBR3-with-DSC configuration.

The practical buying method is to compare the actual laptop against that table, rather than transfer a successful setup from a different notebook. Gigabit Ethernet and the USB accessory ports cover a conventional office, while advanced wake and address-management functions are restricted to selected Dell systems. Treat those business features as model-specific benefits, not promises for every USB-C host.
