Read the display table before counting the sockets

Dell separates display configurations with and without Display Stream Compression. That distinction can change a planned multimonitor desk more than the choice between HDMI and DisplayPort. The published non-DSC examples include a single 4K60 screen or two QHD60 screens; higher-bandwidth arrangements require the right host capabilities. Four connectors therefore do not justify assuming four 4K displays.

This is most useful as a dock chosen for a known Windows laptop, with the required monitor arrangement written down in advance. If the computer specification only says USB-C, establish whether it carries DisplayPort video and which bandwidth features it supports. The WD25 cannot supply video that the host port never provides.

There is a small but real cross-brand charging difference

Dell lists up to 100W to supported Dell systems and 96W to other compatible systems. That difference rarely decides an office setup on its own, but it should remain visible in a compatibility comparison. The external supply’s 130W rating is a separate number.

Four USB-A data ports and 2.5GbE make this worth considering for a desk with several wired accessories and a faster local network. Dell’s OS list on the checked product page does not include macOS. Rather than treating the brand name as universal compatibility, establish support for the exact host and required management features before purchasing.
