Consider it for
- Windows users preserving VGA equipment
- A low-profile desk with varied legacy display connectors
Check before buying
- Not a triple-4K extended-display solution
- Official page excludes 2020 M1 MacBooks; macOS mirrors external outputs
The VGA socket changes the display math
The official matrix lists a single HDMI or DisplayPort screen at 4K30 and a single VGA screen at 1080p60. Windows dual-extended mode is listed at 1080p60, while triple extended mode drops further. This is therefore more of a legacy-connection solution than a modern triple-4K workstation.
Check the exact configuration and included power supply.
Check on AmazonPower input and laptop output are different numbers
Although marketed with a 100W pass-through input, Belkin reserves 15W for operation. A suitable 100W supply therefore leaves up to 85W for the host, and the charger is not included. If you reuse a 65W charger, the available laptop power is lower again.
Read the explicit Mac exclusions
The detailed page limits macOS to mirrored external screens and states that 2020 M1 MacBooks are not compatible. Those notes take priority over a broad Mac-and-PC description. Its short attached cable and rear-facing sockets also need to fit the physical setup. Measure where the laptop’s USB-C port sits when raised on the dock, especially if several stiff monitor cables will be routed behind it.
