Consider it for
- A user moving between one permanent desk and travel
- Buyers who can use the detachable hub’s exact connection mix
Check before buying
- Automatic multi-screen recommendation held pending complete host matrix
- Detachable hub may obstruct nearby laptop ports
Decide which connections must travel
A removable hub is helpful only if the connections it carries match your mobile work. Inventory your presentation screen, memory card, and USB accessory needs before deciding that one combined product is easier than two separate adapters. The detachable piece can also block neighboring laptop ports on some models, a limitation Anker explicitly flags.
Check the exact configuration and included power supply.
Check on AmazonUse the dedicated video outputs
Anker states that only HDMI and DisplayPort carry video; the ordinary USB-C and USB-A sockets do not. Its current page describes dual 4K60 when both laptop and monitors support DSC. That condition needs checking against the actual equipment rather than inferred from a general USB-C-compatible label.
The dock is intended to work with a connected host
The manufacturer says its light strip and ports activate when a laptop is connected upstream, so it should not be selected simply as an independent accessory charging station. Host charging is rated up to 100W. The full operating-system-specific display matrix has not been encoded in our automatic finder; use the product’s manufacturer compatibility notes before choosing it for a demanding multi-screen arrangement.
