j5create JCD3199

The JCD3199 combines a dual-screen dock with a phone-charging surface. Its charging headline and its two HDMI sockets need closer reading than the product name suggests.

Consider it for

  • Office dual displays plus desk phone charging
  • Compact vertical placement

Check before buying

  • Hybrid native-video and USB-graphics outputs require different expectations.
  • Second HDMI is 4K30, not 4K60.
  • 140W is input, not laptop charging; supply sold separately.

Two 4K outputs, two different display paths

The native DisplayPort Alt Mode HDMI output supports 4K at 60Hz; the USB graphics output supports 4K at 30Hz. This is a hybrid arrangement, with driver installation required. Place the screen where smooth scrolling or motion matters more on the native connection. Equal pixel counts do not make the two outputs equivalent.

j5create lists support for extended displays on Mac and Windows, but the host still needs video-capable USB-C. For native 4K60, the specifications call for DisplayPort 1.4. The display software is the manufacturer’s own documented requirement; its presence should not be mistaken for proof of a DisplayLink chipset.

Separate laptop power from the charging pad

The 140W figure refers to accepted USB-C input. The documented host connection is rated to 100W. A compatible supply is a separate part of the setup, and the wireless pad draws from that shared arrangement. The pad’s headline 15W output also varies with the phone; the manufacturer lists lower figures for some Apple devices.

The vertical holder is worth considering if desk width is tight, while card slots, Ethernet and mixed-speed USB ports serve daily accessories. Before buying, choose which features you will actually use together. Somebody who never charges a phone at the desk may be better served by a simpler dock with equal-refresh displays.
