One monitor leaves room for the rest of the workflow

A photographer importing cards or an office user with an external SSD may value its port balance more than an unused second display socket. The JCD393 includes two USB-A data connections, one USB-C data connection, SD and microSD readers, and Ethernet. USB data rates are specified up to 10Gbps; actual transfers still depend on the computer, storage and activity sharing the connection.

The HDMI output is rated up to 4K60 with a suitable host. It is a native video adapter rather than a software-driven extra-display solution. That makes the laptop’s own external-screen capabilities important, even though the dock only has one monitor connector.

Compatibility is broader than bandwidth

Compatibility with USB4 and Thunderbolt hosts does not turn this into a Thunderbolt dock. Its stated USB data ceiling remains 10Gbps, and its video depends on the computer’s DisplayPort Alt Mode support. This distinction avoids paying for it under the assumption that every attached accessory receives a Thunderbolt connection.

Charging is pass-through from a USB-C supply; the manufacturer’s electrical table gives an 85W host-output ceiling even though the input headline is 100W. j5create now marks this model unavailable on its own store and points to a successor. Marketplace listings may remain, so compare the exact JCD393 model and package rather than treating availability of the newer version as evidence about this one.
