The power budget is split across devices
j5create advertises 145W charging across the setup, but the laptop connection tops out at 100W. Separate USB-C charging connections are rated at 27W and 18W. That is a useful distinction for a desk with a notebook, phone and tablet: the combined number is not a promise to feed a 145W workstation through one cable.
The power supply is built into the dock and takes an AC cord. This changes the packing calculation compared with a small bus-powered hub. Its cable-storage compartment and vertical holder can help keep a permanent installation contained; moving it between meeting rooms is a different proposition.

The two HDMI sockets combine a native DisplayPort Alt Mode path at 4K60 with a USB graphics path at 4K30. Manufacturer software is required, and the host needs video-capable USB-C; native 4K60 additionally requires the documented DisplayPort 1.4 capability.
That mixed arrangement can suit office reference screens, but should not be selected merely because both monitor boxes say 4K. Put the more motion-sensitive workload on the native output. The manufacturer page also gives inconsistent minimum operating-system versions in different sections. Check the current driver download against your exact OS before committing, particularly on an older Mac or a work laptop with restricted installation rights.
