HDMI and DisplayPort cannot run together

Anker states that the HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 sockets are alternatives: select one at a time. Additional supported screens must use the appropriate Thunderbolt path. Buying two standard monitor cables for those two adjacent sockets will not create the independent display arrangement you expect.

Backward compatibility has clear boundaries

The manufacturer excludes Thunderbolt 3 laptops and monitors, including Intel-based MacBooks, and does not support ChromeOS or Linux. Its current guidance favors macOS 15 or later and Windows hosts with the required updates. Check the exact host rather than treating all Thunderbolt generations as interchangeable.

Separate speed, screen count, and charging needs

Up to 140W laptop power, two downstream Thunderbolt 5 connections, 2.5Gb Ethernet, and multiple 10Gbps USB sockets are the principal workstation features. Your computer still determines the screen count and bandwidth. A native single-display Mac does not gain extra independent displays simply by using this dock. If your real requirement is only two ordinary office screens, compare the cost and host support with a Thunderbolt 4 option first.
